What does the TOEIC test?

The TOEIC L&R is an English language test designed to assess a non-English speaking person's reading and listening skills in a business setting. (What is TOEIC?).

The test lasts 120 minutes that are divided into two sections:

  • The Listening section: Listening comprehension which lasts 45 minutes.
  • The Reading section: Reading Comprehension which lasts 75 minutes.

Each section includes 100 questions divided into parts.

Within the TOEIC PrepMyFuture, you can take the mock exams part by part.

The Listening section

An English-language recording containing the guidelines allows you to answer the questions. You must follow the pace of the audio.

This section is broken down into 4 parts:

  • Questions about image descriptions
  • Listening to questions and answers (short conversations)
  • Listening to dialogues (long conversations)
  • Listening to short presentations

When you take the TOEIC mock exam on PrepMyFuture, the Practice mode allows you to have the soundtrack question by question. The audio script is also displayed.

For a beginner, listening and reading the text will help them improve faster.

The Reading section

This section is the last part of the exam. It lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes, and it is divided into 3 parts:

  • Sentences to be completed
  • Texts to be completed
  • Reading several written content and answering questions

It is important to stay focused for this last section. We recommend that you take full practice tests to get used to the intensity of the exam.
